We think about him every day. Most days we talk about him, too.

We all hope to be as beloved in our entire lifetime and he was in his shortened one. There was just something about him that we were drawn to. You just wanted Buddha in your life after you met him. Buddha made us feel special. He made us feel important. He was 5 foot 9, but he was 10 feet tall.

All of us who had the honor to know him and love him - and the list is very long - will be forever richer for it. And those who did not will never know what they missed.

Once, when he was in New Hampshire on business, he drove a hundred miles out of his way to meet our daughter. He didn't do it because he was in the neighborhood ¾ because he clearly wasn't. He did it because it was important to us. Madeleine was about 10 months old.

She was in her high chair when he came bounding through the front door to hug her. He made such a fuss that she burst into tears and didn't stop crying until after he left the property - or maybe even the state. And all he did was laugh. That's how we remember him.

A quote we once heard, that Buddha could have written himself, is "Don't cry because its over. Smile because it happened." And that's what we would like to say about Buddha. Don't cry because we lost him. But smile because we had him.

We think about you every day, Buddha. We miss you. We love you.
